Security can be migrated to allow you to maintain your shared permissions.
This document will help you better understand how to use the Security feature in Cloudsfer.
Please note: The security migration option requires purchasing one of our Business plans. More information can be found in our Pricing page.
In order to purchase a business plan, register to Cloudsfer and login to your account, go to Pricing >> Business plans or simply go to https://app.cloudsfer.com/User/Plans.
During the New Migration Plan Wizard, after choosing your source and target systems, the Optional Settings menu will show.
Click on the Security Migration tab to view your permission mapping option.
Map the permissions by clicking on the appropriate drop-down menu box and selecting the target permissions which best suits the one you had in the source.
Selecting "Do no maintain permissions" will not migrate the selected permission level.
Please note: Permissions may differ from one system to another. For example, the "View" permission level in the source might have different permissions than the "View" permission level in the target.
A table listing the permission levels and their permission in each system can be found in Permission levels in Google Drive, Box and SharePoint Online
Please see the below screenshot for reference, with “Dropbox for Business” system in the source and "Google Drive for Business" as the target:
User Mapping:
In the section under the permissions assignments, the User Mapping section is visible. There are 3 possible selections:
A. None - Permissions will be migrated "As is"; This should be used when the source & target users have the same Email addresses.
For example: When A@ABC.com in the source is the same A@ABC.com in the target.
B. Domain Mapping – Replace domains between systems. Please note: The naming convention must be identical.
For Example: Source domain: Tzunami.com (first_last@tzunami.com), Target domain: Cloudsfer.com (first_last@Cloudsfer.com)C. Spreadsheet Mapping - Upload a spreadsheet which specifies the exact user mapping. This should be used in cases where both the usernames and the domains are different.
For example: Source domain: Tzunami.com (AAA@tzunami.com), Target domain: Cloudsfer.com (first_lastBBB@Cloudsfer.com)
In order to upload the spreadsheet, click on the "Upload user mapping spreadsheet" button.
By clicking on "Download example Excel file", you can download an example Excel sheet:
Once you have completed your permissions assignments and User Mapping, click on Save & Continue to save and continue to the next step.
